Beating Shiro in Nightfall
I did i search and found nothing so here i go. I've been having a hell of a time beating the nightfall shiro. I get through everything else like nothing, kill the undead lich and start on shiro, i get him down to a little under half health np, but then he starts using some skill that wastes my whole team in about 2 seconds.
I'm running this using hench and heros because really people are hard to come by there, though i have tried it with them with no improvement. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. EL squid |

He mainly uses battle scars and impossible odds. He heals with battle scars so you have to get him out of that or the fight will last too long for you to win. Try wild blow on at least a couple of your warriors or warrior secondaries to get him out of battle scars as soon as you see it (its a stance). Hexes like SS that damage him when he attacks or strikes are good too. Also, if he's getting the best of you try running back through the portal that you go through the first time you encounter him and the lich--he'll follow a bit but then will turn back and break off the attack. You might try flagging your heroes around that portal before the fight starts.

Really needs coordination, its not some stroll in the park like everything else. Good ol' wiki saves the day yet again.

Its your fault for not trusting in people... I always use PUG's and everytime I had to do that mission I got masters with ease...

I do it with heroes all the time. Wild blow or any stance breaker is king.

I have 10 character and have beat the mission 10x for masters. In each case I used either Master of Whispers or Olias with Spoil Victor. The following other skills also work well.
Enfeeble Spiteful Spirit Empathy Wild Blow or anything else that breaks a stance. Also if you have an Assassin you can SOLO Shiro with a Critical Defenses Build. I did it once just to see if it works and it does work quite well but takes about 8-10 minutes to do so. |

It's handy to have a strategy with a human team, but same can be said for heroes + human teams. more on topic: Bring master of whispers with Spitefull Spirit or spoil victor + insidious parasite and enfeeble (energy management skilsl are usefull as well). in theory that's all you need to get masters on this mission. imo safest way (but does take some time) is to park henchman/heros outside entrance of that dome and test if shiro will walk to them.. if you found a spot where shiro will not want to move to place your heros/hench there, and let 1 hero or yourself tank shiro. (wild blow still helps) in due time he should die, allowing you to let master of whispers focus onthe lich and keep enfeeble on him while the rest of the team caps the schrines (let necro hero walk along so he'll get healed). and kill the lich once youre done. You could also bodyblock shiro near the entrance by attacking while he has riposting shadows active, with some luck he'll get stuck and won't attack or move. |

LOL - the last time My friend and I did shiro with a mesmer and an assassin plus heroes, we killed him too quickly and never got masters. The key is to interrupt him and hit him with degen, empathy and spiteful spirit. An assassination also seems to be efficient. LOL too efficient for us.

i used to run this mission for money but dunno what your profession is you really need a human that can remove stances, i prefer warrior with wild blow. even done this mission with me, 3 heros, 2 henchmonks and other 2 human died watching me do it. make sure your monk uses aegis and paragon the elite version of aegis. i never use conditions on shiro impossible odds puts it on whole team and screws your team badly good luck ^^

THe key to defeating Shiro is to adapt to his killer combo of Battle scars and Impossible odds.
You can simply break the stance, but you'll need very very careful timing to get it right. One mistake and you wipe. Much better is to simply have only one melee character in the group. Have that character equip some serious blocking skills (I use my Zenmai with Flashing blades) and wild blow. Then, it's just a matter of time. Odurra is good for the mission and a hero necromancer with Spoil victor speeds things up significantly. |

I did it with henchmen/heroes the a while with me as a Warrior (probably one of the most important professions to have as a player). If the warrior stands in the narrow doorway just before the chamber with Shiro and the Lich, you can flag the henchmen/heroes at the left (when you're facing the doorway) and attempt to bodyblock Shiro. Avoid equipping any casters with projectile weapons. If you flag them just behind this to prevent them from wanding. Just in case, unequip the weapons on your non-melee heroes.
Other than that, the GuildWiki link that lucifer_uk linked to does give some nice tips. |
